ZooXXI

ZooXXI is a project team based out of Barcelona, Spain, working with the multimedia company Emotique and the Media Technologies Department at La Salle, Universitat Ramon Llull. Our vision is to create a new way of thinking about zoos for the 21st century by promoting a world in which people take responsibility for themselves, the animals, and the environment. This semester, we will bring a piece of that larger vision to life by creating an immersive, hands-on installation, one that will tell a story of positive human stewardship of the planet. Ultimately, we see ZooXXI acting as a buffer zone between the world of development and the world of nature. In the meantime, and with an eye toward our future goals, we will use technology and interactive storytelling to get us stepping in the right direction.

Videos for Installation

This was the intro for the beginning of the Eye Wall installation that was created using Adobe After Effects. In this intro we asked the guests why they looked at animals. The guest then typed their answers which was uploaded along with other peoples answers to a live database that was viewable on the internet, twitter and the installation itself.

This was projected on the floor in the Eye Wall installation to lead the guest from the intro segment to they Eye Wall.
